Your Spiritual Journey: The Fast Track and How to Avoid Confusion and Wasted Time in 4 Easy Steps

By Daud Zambrano

Why worry about speed on our spiritual journey? If we use methods and understanding to make a quick journey, we avoid many dangers that lie in wait on the path, from depression to insanity. A sage once said, “It sometimes seems like the spiritual journey is a tightrope stretched low across the ground, designed more for tripping over than walking on.” Trying to feel our way in the dark and moving slowly on our spiritual journey may bring us to those very dangers we are trying to avoid.

Your spiritual journey consists of travelling from the outer circle of humanity, where every person speaks their own language and miscommunication and suffering is the rule, to the inner circle, where all hearts are as one and true community and love exist.

To the inner circle belong the sages, saints, enlightened beings and prophets, all arrayed in degrees of closeness to the center, which is the ultimate truth. The inner circle is characterized by consciousness, or acting with purpose and awareness. The outer circle is characterized by mechanicalness, or acting as a machine in an action-reaction pattern, without awareness or control.

The Three Types of Influences

At the beginning stage of our spiritual journey, we are the product of the things that influence us. The first types are influences of the material world. Some of these are our culture, media, entertainment, and the hunt for wealth and security. These are unconscious and mechanical in origin, they happen randomly, and are mechanical in their distribution in the outer circle of humanity. Their only purpose may be the continuation of life.

The second types are influences on our spiritual journey are from the inner circle of humanity. These are conscious in their origin, but mechanical and random in their distribution in the outer circle of humanity. They are created by people in the inner circle with the definite purpose of accumulating inside of people to bring them to closer to the inner circle. To this category belong the influences of literal religion, myths, and legends.

Your spiritual journey’s first stage will lead you to the threshold of the inner circle of humanity, where you will begin to come into contact with communities and individuals who may have a connection to the inner circle. Through these connections you may come into to contact with the third type of influence, which is when you meet the true guide who will show you the way to inner circle. This third influence comes directly from the heart of an enlightened being. This influence is conscious in origin and conscious in distribution.

The Importance of Magnetic Center

Influences from the inner circle are collected in a special organ of our minds called magnetic center. Magnetic center is the combined memory and energy of all influences from the inner circle of humanity. It can be thought of as a spiritual compass. It is a prerequisite for a spiritual journey, as it plots our course and pulls us to our destination. Awareness of your magnetic center is the key and the secret to speed on your spiritual journey. If we have a weak or non-existent magnetic center, we will not see any value in spiritual ideas. The fact that you are reading this article and have not left yet is a sign that you have accumulated enough influences from the inner circle to form a magnetic center strong enough to begin to move you.

Here is how you apply these ideas in your life to avoid confusion and wasted time on your spiritual journey.

STEP 1: Distinguish inner circle influences from outer circle influences in your life.

A good indicator of what type of influence you are dealing with on your spiritual journey is that outer circle influences are usually selfish, while inner circle influences tend to be unselfish and bring benefit to many people. Inner circle influences invite us to awareness of ourselves, and outer circle influences invite us to lose ourselves in them and act more mechanical. Losing yourself means that you cease to exist. All progress on your spiritual journey is halted for as long as you are not present to yourself. You can notice it when you are driving. Sometimes you are on the highway and you start to think of the yummy dinner waiting at home, and then you look up and you are 10 miles down the road… what happened? You lost yourself in the influences of the outer circle. Awareness of our selves means that we observe our senses and inner states as they happen and are able to choose not to express those states which are harmful to us. It means we act in a way that does not forget our aim of advancing on our spiritual journey.

STEP 2: Don’t Lose Yourself in Influences of the Outer Circle.

If you can maintain your sense of self then these influences can be harmless. Outer and inner circle influences are mixed in life, and normally when an outer circle influence hits us we lose ourselves in it. When an inner circle influence hits us we can increase our awareness. If you experience an inner circle influence, try to maintain the state of awareness as long as possible into the coming of the outer circle influence. The great thing is that awareness will make your experience of outer circle influences more enjoyable, as they will have a spark of vividness and life to them.

Step 3: Cultivate Interest In Influences of the Inner Circle.

Think about the knowledge you have accumulated on your spiritual journey and about how new knowledge relates to it. This creates connections between points of insight in your understanding that make your magnetic center more cohesive and powerful. This will create irresistible momentum in your spiritual journey.

STEP 4: Let the Your Magnetic Center Pull You with Extreme Speed Toward the end of Your Spiritual Journey.

The process will happen with its own speed, but the secret key is adding the light of your understanding and awareness to it. The pull of your magnetic center on your spiritual journey is like a current in a river, it will take you with or without your awareness. However, when you understand that this river is pulling you toward your final destination, your subconscious mind will break out the oars, or the motor, and you will be REALLY MOVING. At this stage you must be on guard for the appearance of a link to the inner circle of humanity, which may take the form of a community or individual.

Following these steps will remove confusion from your spiritual journey because you will see your path brightly lit in front of you, and your magnetic center will act like a compass and always point you in the right direction. Having this inner spiritual compass will make the best use of your time by showing you the way and keeping you from distractions and detours on your spiritual journey.

So start today. Stand guard at the gates of your heart, and observe the impressions that pass through them. Classify them into influences of the outer or inner circle of humanity, and be aware of their accumulation in your magnetic center. Keep your sense of self when you must work with outer circle influences, and cultivate interest and connections of understanding in inner circle influences. Bring awareness to your attraction to connecting with a spiritual community or person who will bring you to the end of the spiritual journey and the beginning of the work.
