Beliefs are one of the most powerful creators in your world, they determine what you experience moment to moment and are most powerful in the moment. When you are present, not thinking about the future or the past, you are able to create your next moment as awesome as the beliefs that create it.
It is said that magic is in the Here and Now moment and that magic is strongest when you are fully present in the NOW. While it is important to be present in the moment, you might have trouble in doing so because your beliefs are formed in the past making it hard to be present.
Many of the beliefs you have are usually gotten from a parent, friend, sibling, a teacher or the media, many of them are usually formed as a child. While the beliefs may have served you as a child, you have grown and changed and they very likely no longer support the world you live in to date.
New beliefs will need to be formed that are supportive of who you are now and the life you live and want to create. Otherwise you will continue to experience a reality that is less then the vision you have for your life to be.
While it is true that the future is yet to come and the past only exists in your mind, you relive it by thinking about it. That is another way the past is still alive in you through your beliefs because they are a part of the past and if you want to fully release it, release past beliefs and replace them.
A great example of a non supporting belief and how they create reality and how they did for someone I work closely with is Cindy’s beliefs about money. Cindy, has believed for as long as I have known her that money does not come to her easily and that it is easier for others to get it or be blessed with having more than enough.
Furthermore Cindy, also believed that someone would always cheat her of her money and that she would never have enough. Believing that way always created those experiences with others where everything would start out fine and go wrong later on and when things did Cindy, would say I always get cheated.
Saying it only reinforces the belief that is already there, some times people say, ‘I will believe it when I see’ yet if you do not believe it you will never see it. It is not seeing is believing because you have to believe, only then will you see it, and you have only to look at your life to see what your beliefs have created for you.
There are many such things that serve as examples of someones beliefs and how they create what someone experiences. Take someone whose looking to meet their soul mate, their first though is usually, ‘he/she will probably reject me’ I would be better off if I do not say anything.
One I commonly run into in men who are dating is not wanting to mess things up with the girl and if things go wrong they say it was not meant to be. They might also feel they deserved what happened or that it was better that way or something. Either way you can blame it on whatever you like but it still does not change what you believe to be true.
If you believe you don’t deserve someone you may not meet someone but if you do, it probably wont last long. Now take someone who watches their weight, they are very conscious people and always think about their food before they eat it.
I can tell you from experience if you think the food your eating is going to make you gain weight it already has before you have eaten it! The weight you gain starts in your mind and you worry about it until you do gain weight and say; Oh why did I eat that I knew it would make me fat! I have to stop doing that!
It does not matter what you eat you can still gain weight but it all depends on how much and how often you eat and if you exercise or not. However, no matter how little or much you eat you are always going to be subjected to your beliefs until and unless you change them to support what you want experience.
Otherwise you are always going to gain weight, get rejected, get cheated of your money or anything else you believe in. Quite simply what you believe is or is not possible is only as possible as your beliefs allow it to be and when you change that will your results will change too.
Be more consciously aware when listening to the news or reading the newspaper or talking to a friend or co-worker. You do not necessarily have to be as much aware of what they say as much as the effect on it has on you i.e. Your stomach tightens or you think it interesting etc.
Realize that if something sounds logical to you you are more likely to believe it and adopt it as a belief and make your truth. The best way to tell when something will become a new belief is when you start thinking there is truth in something and notice the next time it comes up if you agree with it.
The thing to remember is that you always have a choice in what you believe in and you can ask yourself if that would be a supporting belief or not. It will either support you or not and if not then choose not to believe in it and create a belief that is supportive.
There are a couple of ways in which you can figure out rather your beliefs on any subject are supportive or not. The best way to figure it out is to observe the things you think, feel and do, around any subject you want to improve, usually what you feel and do are different then what you say.
Those will give you a clue about your true beliefs if they are hidden from you and the other tips below will help you in that areas well.
First, think about an area of your life that you want better results from and set a goal to improve it.
Say your goal is in bettering your health. So your first step write a list of as many beliefs that would support your goal in achieving better health and a healthy mind.
Next think about your existing beliefs and the earliest you remember having them beliefs, that should help you figure out where they come from.
When you do this and find a couple of them, ask yourself whose beliefs they are and/or whom you got them from or where they came from. You will likely find they are not your own but are instead those of someone close to you.
Since we usually adopt a family member’s belief it is likely that it is one of those, accept that at one time it may have served you. Now it no longer serves a purpose you can release it and replace it with a new supporting belief and the fun part is, one of your choice.
It may not be easy to find the limiting beliefs right off but with time and practice it will become a lot easier to identify them. Journalizing can be a big help with that, though I have spent years working on my own beliefs I still do not always notice a belief that is non-supportive. However, you can always tell when something is wrong and it’s only a matter of time until it is found.
When you find the truth everything changes in the blink of an eye. You may not LIKE the truth, and it may be harsh or ugly, but all the same your soul loves the truth and when you learn it or speak it.
It is like all the lights in the whole world have come on in your soul and lit it up. So even if you do not like what you find you can change it later but in the end you will feel good for having found that truth.
My last thoughts on closing this are; change, no matter how small always brings good answers and insight to these matters and many others so seek change.
Center your energy in the NOW moment and create beliefs that support the life you choose to design for yourself and those in your life. Clear any mental or emotional obstacle/blocks that limit your authenticity and true potential for abundance and fulfillment.
