By Hank Mattimore

Some days the good times really do roll. I had one of those experiences recently having coffee at Starbucks after a game of tennis with my tennis bud, 90-year-old Roy. Yes, that’s right. This 90 year old guy still plays tennis. In fact, on this day, he was telling me how grateful he is not only to be able to swing a tennis racquet but to go dancing twice a week. He takes singing lessons, too and is learning how to play the piano. Good grief! This man is as ALIVE as a ten year old. His secret. “There’s no secret,” says Roy, “unless it’s just being grateful for life.” For this old man, his life wisdom is distilled into one word, gratitude. Read More→

See how these 8 ingredients can make a difference for you in your life.

Here are the ingredients:

1. Intention: This is the foundation of joy. Set your intention every day, and if you do this you will not be taken over by old stories, habits and patterns.

Do you ever accomplish something and just move on to the next project, not even taking a moment to catch your breath? After all, there’s so much to be done, right?

You are not alone! Most people plug away at those eternal to-do lists and don’t allow time to celebrate hard work and success. This pattern may produce results, but it certainly leaves little room for joy – and results without joy is like baking a great cake without ever delighting in its taste.

Why don’t we stop to celebrate more often? After all, celebration shifts us into a world of fantastic feelings – happiness, satisfaction, pride, and more – and these feelings have a way of generating even more success. Read More→

Why Is Gratitude So Important?

By Arlene · Comments (1)

By Caroline Nettle

Gratitude is a state of mind that comes from really appreciating what you have already and being thankful for it. If you can truly look at your life and everything in it and be grateful, you are much more likely to be content, and to attract more of the same to yourself in the future.

If you are someone who has spent a long time being miserable, or envious, or sad, or grieving, or jealous, gratitude can be very difficult to find. Perhaps you grew up in a household filled with hatred, illness, bitterness or quarrels, and so your default position is far removed from grateful and content. When you have been conditioned to think that any of the above is normal, it can be very challenging to change your beliefs Read More→

By Maria Erving

Experiencing something difficult in your life? Feeling rejected (even from God), fearful, isolated, sadness; all those feelings cause us to ask for the opposite!

But instead of looking at the asked, most people still dwell in contrast, while it’s just as easy to think “Wow! There’s a gift here, and I’m going to find it. The opposite of this experience is available to me.”

I have felt all those feelings I mentioned many times over in my past, so I’m not just voicing an opinion with this article. I really know how it feels to have been through tough times and that’s why I’m encouraging you now to see what has worked for me. My heartfelt desire is to encourage, and plant a seed of hope in others. Read More→
