The greatest mistake we can make is not recognizing the difference between acceptance and approval. It is one thing to approve of something; it is another to accept someone.

We approve or disapprove of “things” (behavior, actions, and lifestyles) we accept “people”. One doesn’t cancel the other. Having long term healthy relationships requires accepting others, even if we don’t approve of their decisions.

Contraction Won’t Quench Your Thirst

Can you feel it?  There are so many people contracting out of fear and worry.  Tightening their wallets, and their muscles. Closing their minds so that only what’s already in there can inform.  As if we’ve taken one massive, collective inhale. Then stopped right there in the middle of living.

Now, not everyone who is contracted in the whirl of worry, doubt, fear and shame.  No, some who think they are more enlightened, want to be “positive,” are contracted in a different way.  It can be tricky to even notice it, the contraction that happens for the mind-set, law-of-attraction, live-the-good-life seekers. Allow, Instead of Seize, the Day

allowtheday_articleI’ve been giving a lot of thought to the various messages we’ve received over the years and generally highly regard. Many success and self-help experts have told us that we need to “Seize the Day”. “Carpe diem” they tell us.

Well, what the heck does that mean? How does one “seize the day”?
