The seed of Success dwells in every man, but just like every seed it does not grow until it’s cutivated. Success is like the crude oil which does not give its maximum value until it is refined. It is like a plant in a garden. It is not beautiful and shapely until it becomes pruned. So then how do you cultivate, refine and prune yourself success?
S – See Yourself
Put a price tag on yourself and people will buy you for that worth.
You must have a good self image, self esteem, self confidence and self worth to tread on the paths of self fulfilment and success. You must believe in yourself. In everything you do and take part in, endeavour to see yourself as an important part of that whole. You are unique. You have an ability that no other person on this planet has. Yes, your finger prints prove it. Don’t compare yourself to others and then look down on yourself. I have never seen a KING hiding like a common Criminal. That is what you do when you hide your TALENTED self in the shell of shyness, timidity and lack of confidence. Talk, stand, walk and behave as a HERO because that’s who you are. You are one of a Kind. Without you, creation would be incomplete.
U – Use What You Have
The big trees in the forest came from a tiny single seed.
What do you have now? Use it. It doesn’t matter how little; Start from where you are. I know of a treasure that God has given to everyone abundantly. YOUR TALENT. He put it in your hand the day you were born. The only way for you to cultivate, prune and refine this talent and make it a jewel of inestimable value is through ACTION. Start now, use it. That’s where your greatest fulfilment lies. This principle borders on everything we possess; time, money, investments. You must make proper use of them to make them grow. The laws of MULTIPLICATION and COMPOUND INTEREST favour people who put something into use. They never work on people who have nothing. That’s why you need not look at the quantity of what you’ve got in your hand. Look at its potency, only then will you know the magnitude of what you possess.
C – Celebrate Your Milestones
The cheerful heart has a continual feast.
This is the ability to tell yourself that you’ve done well at every progress you make in life. It is your acknowledgement of God’s blessings upon your life. You appreciate God and people who have helped you, and then you crown it all by telling yourself ‘Well done’. Be cheerful at all times. Replace grudge and complaints with joyfulness and positive mindedness. If you don’t have a thing to celebrate for, celebrate your life. But you have so many things to celebrate for. How big or Small the progress is, is not the issue. Celebrate one and you’ll celebrate two and many more. That’s what the wise proverb in italics above means. One good thing this does to you is that it makes you optimistic even at unfavourable or adverse situations. It keeps you going because you know you’ll surely come out stronger and more successful. Success moves in the direction of cheerfulness.
C – Create extensively
You can give answers to all questions, if you will think out of the box.
Not even the sky will be your limit if you are a creator. If you can change whatever you do for the better always, Success will make you its abode. Resting on your past laurels or achievements will clear the roadway to failure for you. Say no to complacency. Generate ideas that will change your life and ask yourself the different ways you can make them have a maximum value. That immeasurable value will reward you abundantly. Many people live mediocre lives because they don’t think out of the box. They don’t go that extra mile of innovating new ways and techniques of approaching old problems. It’s too much work. Winners do not compete. They create. Every successful man is a creator. Creativity is a continuous process. Successful people hate statusquo. They believe in positive changes. Someone defined insanity as doing the same thing at all times and expecting a different result. If you must be successful you have to pay the price of creativity. Your 400 billion brain cells are for idea generation. Use them at all times.
E – Educate yourself continuously
If you don’t know it, i wonder how you will do it.
Knowledge is one of the lasting keys to success. Furnishing yourself with information will set you high on the ladder of success. Educate yourself. Train yourself regularly. Attend Seminars, read books and magazines, take part in workshops, listen to the news and attach yourself to mentors who will guide you on the best path to take on issues and decisions. Learn as much as you can and even beyond about whatever has to do with your life; time, finance, relationships, business, skills, Sports. Don’t be obsolete in your own environment. Endeavour to acquaint yourself with every law and policy in the country. With these, opportunities will present themselves to you. When you are armed with the proper knowledge, you will see ways and opportunities where people do not see them. You will have the light to locate problems before time and know how to tackle them even before they surface. I tell you, with knowledge you will go places. Educate yourself continuously and apply them in your work and endeavours. There is no better way to make your success a lasting one. With knowledge you will attract every other good things of life. Have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge!
S – Self Discipline is key
Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self control.
The first victory you celebrate on your road to success is victory over self. The flesh craves to act without boundary. If it’s not tamed it can ruin fortunes built with ages. If you gratify the desires of the flesh, success will remain an illusion. Be temperate in all things. Avoid anger, drunkenness, gluttony, lust, greed and every other vice that has a tendency to destroy your earned reputation and success. Self respect and discipline will show you off as a man of character. Self control takes you to excellence and excellence will work out success.
S – Serve Humanity
The reason why we live among people and not in our own world is not to make a pass but to affect lives.
True and lasting success comes from touching people’s lives. Give out a hand and lift someone with you. Give. There is no accepted excuse for not giving. Give of your time, your talent, your energy, your resources, your care, your smile. Show love to humanity. The best thing you can ever give is to bless humanity with what you do best. Use your talents and gifts for the upliftment of the human race and it will reward you for that. Look around and you will see so many problems. People bemoan and complain. You even complain but you maybe the solution to that problem. Serve humanity. Be the best at what you do best. Don’t neglect that cry within to do something positive for the betterment of another. Take that step, no matter how little. Success will bear you witness.
It’s time to succeed. Now is the time. Start from wherever you are. It’s a journey of champions and heroes like you. Embark on it!
