An acrobat walking a tight rope while juggling 6 plates in the air… Is this you?
Could you wallpaper Donald Trump’s office with your “To Do” List?
Ever wish you could wake up… cloned?
You may be suffering from “Time Warp” – the phenomenon where all available time, and then some, is stuffed so full of “things that need doing” that time is literally stretched and warped out of shape like an overfilled water balloon – leaving you frazzled and your world perilously close to exploding.
Ever thought about “Squeezing Time” to make it all fit? You can squeeze time and warp it back into shape with a few simple techniques. More of the “things that need doing” will fit nicely and orderly in the new shape of time! And you can get more done in less time.
Here are my top tips for squeezing time:
1. Stacking. Stack appointments and meetings back to back at least one day a week. You’ll be more efficient at each meeting because you will have set a limited amount of time to accomplish your goals at each meeting.
2. Be Queen or King for a Day. Make all your subjects come to you. Schedule all your meetings in one location. Whether it’s your office, home office, a restaurant or meeting room, set your appointments on your chosen turf. You will appear in control of the meeting and save loads of time otherwise wasted traveling from appointment to appointment. Combine this technique with Stacking and you’ve got a super-squeezed day! You may find yourself with enough time left over at the end of the day for an early dinner!
3. Delegate. Too many of us are recovering perfectionists! We think that no one can do “it” – whatever “it” is – better or more efficiently than we can do it! This misconception prevents us from utilizing the most powerful Time Squeeze Tool known to man or woman: Delegating. Allow others to help you! Divvy up the pie on your overladened plate and hand the pieces out to others. If you set clear expectations for getting each job done and then release each task into capable hands, you may find that others can accomplish tasks as efficiently as you can – and sometimes even better!
Whenever you feel like your “time balloon” is so stuffed it’s about to pop, “squeeze” it back into shape by stacking, becoming royalty for a day and delegating. You’ll amaze yourself with what you can accomplish when you squeeze time!

I like the idea of ‘squeezing time’. In the end it all comes down to the ability to focus your attention. I get the most done when I slow down and just do one thing at a time, one after the other, until I’ve worked through my list.
