Norman Vincent Peale reminded us long ago that our thoughts create our reality. Your thoughts like seeds sprout and grow into things. What seeds are you planting? Peale stated, “If you have zest and enthusiasm you attract zest and enthusiasm. Life does give back in kind.”

Knowing that life gives back in kind you need to be mindful of the seeds you sow. Robert Louis Stevenson stated, “Do not measure success by today’s harvest. Measure success by the seeds you plant.” Measure your success not by what you are harvesting this moment, but by the seeds you are planting this moment.”

This obvious shift is a great miracle that brings the reminder that what you focus on is what you will get. Stop this moment and ask yourself, “What seeds am I planting?” Plant the seeds you want to harvest. Plant the seeds of hope, faith, and trust. Plant the seeds of actions and words that will bring the harvest you desire.

Echoing in the background are many laments, reasons and excuses that you can use as the exception to this truism. In his infinite wisdom, Peale knew there are those, who would point out the exceptions, to which he stated, “Every problem has in it the seeds of its own solution. If you don’t have any problems, you don’t get any seeds.”

Your soul’s sole purpose for being in body is to create emotional and spiritual growth. Thus, if there is no opposite in the absolute, we could not compare or relate to it, nor could we have a sense of it. You cannot experience and feel hot unless there is a contrast, which is cold or a temperature lesser than. You can not experience joy unless there is its opposite – sadness, love unless there is an opposite – fear. You get the picture.

Which seeds do you want to harvest, the seeds of sadness or joy, love or fear, forgiveness or anger? Make your harvest the one you desire. Plant the seeds in your thoughts, actions and words that you desire to harvest.
