There are hundreds of definition on Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP in short, but, from my personal experience, I would define NLP in such a way of: “The science of analyses & modeling excellences in human behavior people (the study and imitation) to produce similar results in others, and the art of process in getting the best resources from inner self or subconscious mind to achieve the excellent outcome that we desire.”
NLP has three aspects which it gives away in its name:
Neuro – refer to the mind or neurological process, like how we think, feel and imagine, also how we perceive the world through the senses of seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting & smelling. The process will code the outer world experiences into our mind by creating inner experiences like inner sound, inner picture and inner feeling.
Linguistic – this is refer to the language system, by which not just word, this is all symbol system that attribute to our internal representational system, like, gestures, postures, signal, pattern, color and etc.
Programming – relate to how the mind is influenced by the language system in a specific way of coding language in our mind. This is a complicated mind setting process and it is the root cause for your life’s destiny.
Then, how can we benefits from learning NLP? Most students of NLP find it starts to make sense when they apply it practically. Many experience major personal changes, from which changes in other people and circumstances follow. In summary, understanding and practicing NLP will help you to:

• Enable you to communicate more effectively and persuasively
• Enable you to be even more creative& innovative
• Control the way how you feel& how you react in most of the situation

• Eliminating unwanted negative thought and feeling
• Cure your phobia, panic, anxiety and unnecessary worry
• Define your purpose in life

The U.S. Army has proved the effectiveness of NLP in an organization. After employing an NLP consultant in 1986, the U.S. Army were able to reduce their small arms marksmanship training from 6 weeks to 3 days with no detrimental effect on the pass rate!
