Anyone who is aware of duality is headed toward an easier game of life! Excellent, Dr. Dorothy! Yet what appears to be missing in our dualistic world is a clear map of how to navigate its constant shifts from one circumstance, situation, feeling, or thought to its opposite.

The movements of duality produce so much ambiguity, uncertainty and constant change, we seem to get a bit lost. And when we're lost, we can get very caught up in trying to solidify our sense of identity by using what we think or feel or the situation we find ourselves in, as a statement about who we are. The more we are conscious of this pattern in ourselves, the easier it is to step aside and return to that sense of belonging to the Larger Whole. Of course, it is all a total paradox for while we are a part of the Whole we are also separate from it when we are in the confines of our mind.

I have found that understanding the movements of duality can be very helpful in shifting our sense of identity from the circumstances of our lives, both outer and inner, to the consciousness in which it is all playing out. Our stories are magnificent, and so rich with emotional texture and mental complexity. And they all rest in a deep confusion about the nature of duality itself. Duality is, afterall, Oneness in diguise. To see that is to become free to enjoy the play and join the dance. So amazing!
