Excellent blog, Sheila. Colors change based upon the individual, the lighting, the context and more. We are affected by the colors in our environment and plays a role in how we feel and react. This has been known for eternity and reflected in the symbolism of color, like white means purity and as you mentioned the relationship to each of the chakras.

The explanation you provided for those in the blue color group to think one minute was shorter than the other two color groups was insightful.

Blessings

Life-Purpose Statement:

Unfortunately far too many people are going through life with no clue as to where they are headed. Too many people live “today” with no sincere “tomorrow” objective. These people go about their life with many hopes, dreams, and wishes, but no plan of action for the realization of those hopes, dreams, and wishes. You cannot live your life with no purpose objective, and yet expect to experience fulfillment. Dr. B – “If you have no purpose objective for your life, have no expectation for fulfillment in your life.” A Life-Purpose Statement is a crucial stop in anyone’s journey towards a life of fulfillment that is directed by the call and charge of purpose.

Every successful business and every successful person has a specific purpose and objective for existing; their common denominator for success is that each business and each person has a prepared purpose statement. Their purpose statement is what provides the parameters by which their success has been, predicted, targeted and achieved. Your Life-Purpose Statement will help you refine your life objectives, and enable you to begin to plan and target ways you will live out those objectives and experience the success you desire, and rightly deserve.

Your Life-Purpose Statement gives you focus and personal accountability as to how you have determined to live your life; it also defines your values by providing a look at what objectives are important to you. Your Life-Purpose Statement concretely defines why you believe you are alive, who you believe you are, and the vision you have for your life.

Generally referred to as a “ “Purpose Statement” (I will explain the difference in a moment), your Life-Purpose Statement is where you write down who you believe God is calling you to be, and what He has charged you to do with the life He has blessed you to live. Your Life-Purpose Statement can be revised from time to time; in fact, it is highly suggested that you revisit, and revise it as often as you feel you are developing more clarity about your God-given purpose and how you are to live out that purpose.

Here are the distinctions I make between the two purpose statements:

1)	Your “purpose statement” would refer to the objectives, intentions or ideals given to a particular goal or to, what we call purpose-actions.

2)	Your “Life-Purpose Statement” refers to your reason for living and your God-given charge.

It is, quite frankly, just that simple. Think about it like this; Your Life-Purpose is the ultimate goal, while, your “purpose” is a mini goal. You create a “purpose statement” each time you set a new goal, or plan out your purpose-actions. On the other hand, you create your Life-Purpose Statement as your life’s God-given charge, and daily living objective.

Here is my actual Life-Purpose Statement:

“My Life-Purpose is to glorify and please God through the life He has blessed me to live; I live my Life-Purpose through living His charge on my life to: Motivate, inspire, instruct and help others to believe they have a unique and personal Life-Purpose to live, and that they have a right to happiness, and fulfillment. I am called to make a profound difference in this world by helping others believe that their God-given destiny is greatness. Me making: your load lighter, your road easier, your path straighter, and your Life-Purpose clearer; is me living my Life-Purpose. ‘As I help you along your life’s journey, I am living my Life-Purpose’.”

Again, that is my actual Life-Purpose Statement; that is how I keep myself focused and steadily moving within what I believe is God’s plan and will for me. This is also how I live in a constant state of fulfillment. When I feel as though I have gotten off of my Life-Purpose route, I refer back to my Life-Purpose Statement; referring back helps me recognize where I may have gone off onto the shoulder, so to speak, and also gives me the sense of direction for getting back on my route.

That piece was done well. I found that it smoothly revealed some of the less desirable attributes of human nature. I've been smacking myself around recently, maybe cutting back on the caffeine would help. This morning I started to formulate a post for my blog along the lines of a person speaking to a twelve step group. It would be me and I have assholism.

That pesky ego does go to great length to endure and protect itself, doesn't it?

I appreciate the distinction you've made between resourceful thinking and positive thinking.

I'm a huge advocate for positive thinking, and I think positive thinking must not be confused with ignorance and denial. I have no desire to plaster a fake smile on my face and fake smile my way through life! Instead, I seek to live a purposeful and intentional life, leaving a positive mark on the world.

I'm linking to your post in my blog tomorrow. Thanks for the great article!

Good post! Indeed certainty goes hand in hand with uncertainty and how we handle each matters. Embracing where we are at presently and learning from it helps. It's in the moment that I have learned my most significant life lessons. Thank you for your insight!

Hi Andy,
This is a beautiful article.
It's funny - we had a Google+ hangout recently and the theme topic was change! Everyone voted for it! They agreed that they got better at it with experience and they said that things usually turned out even when they were reluctant at first about what was changing.
The only thing we didn't discuss is the ultimate change - losing a loved one. I guess that's not really what we're about here in the blogosphere - we're about challenges and passions and growth.
Yes, I roll with changes and No, I don't like losing - anything or anyone!
But maybe I'll get better at it in time.
"As fire molds steel" and my family ages, I'll need to.

Excellent article Joyce.

Many people seem to throw their social skills out the window when having confronting conversations of varying opinions. Whether to "agree to disagree", or as you put it, acknowledge someones contribution to the conversation, I believe is vital for an open mind. Which in the end will allow you develop your own opinions more accurately.

At the end of the day, if no one is listening to you, or you're not listening to others, no matter how right you may be, it's moot.
