manifestAre you meditating, praying, begging for a solution to your problems? Whether you’re struggling with health, wealth, or relationships, the first step toward finding a solution is beginning to ask different questions. As Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, would ask, what are you willing to give up in order to manifest your desires?

I remember a time when I was still trying to manifest wealth. I heard Dr. Michael Beckwith, visionary and founder of Agape International Spiritual Center, say, “The person who asks for the blessing(s) is not the same person who will accept them.” The shivers flowing through my body when I heard this statement let me know that it was profound. But, at the time, I couldn’t quite grasp the meaning.

Looking back on my journey and the success I’ve achieved, I realize that I’ve changed quite a bit. The person I am today who experiences abundance is a lot different than the person who experienced lack back then. Growth, development, and expansion were key to my success.

You must grow, expand, and develop. This allows more to come into your life. It is your own limitations that are limiting your life. Whether it’s money, time, relationships, love — if you’re lacking anything externally, it’s because you’re limited internally.

Shortly after quitting my 9-5 in order to pursue my dreams, I had lunch with a former co-worker. We talked for awhile, and eventually he stopped me mid-sentence, looked me straight in the eyes, and with a concerned voice asked, “Are you changing? Be careful, Kyana, it looks like you’re changing.”

Why would I have to be careful? Change is wonderful, but unfortunately, many people think of change as negative. My former coworker, who was stuck in a fear mentality, was nervous about my new found sense of freedom. He thought I sounded arrogant. I knew I felt and expressed a new sense of control and freedom over my own life.

Don’t be afraid to change. The person with the problem cannot simultaneously be the person with the solution. If you were, then the problem wouldn’t exist in the first place.

Allow evolution and expansion to take place inside of you and in your life. This may mean letting go of the old, but it also means you get to embrace the new. Allow yourself to release relationships, jobs, or anything that no longer serves you. The quicker you learn to do this, the better you’ll be at accepting the new and profound into your life.

Here’s an affirmation to help with this process: “I am ready and willing to change. I let go of old ideas that no longer serve me. I openly embrace new ways of being.”
